Ford 5R3Z-8592-BA is an upper engine coolant thermostat housing (also referred to as a water outlet connection or water neck).
Purpose: Regulates the flow of engine coolant into the radiator to keep the engine operating within the correct temperature range.
Common Issue: The factory plastic versions are prone to cracking or leaking over time, which can cause coolant loss or engine overheating. Many owners replace them with upgraded aluminum aftermarket or OEM-style replacements.
Position: Upper cooling system connection.
