The Melling M340HV is a high-volume, standard-pressure engine oil pump designed for select Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury 4.6L and 5.4L SOHC modular V8 engines
Oil Flow: Increases oil volume by an average of 20% over the stock OEM M340 pump.
Pressure Rating: Standard pressure with a 60 PSI bypass relief spring.
Design Upgrades: Features a durable cast iron cover plate that resists deflection under load (improving upon factory aluminum plates that can warp and lose pressure).
Fitment: Direct-fit replacement that does not require modifications or a custom pickup tube (though variants like the M340HV-340S bundle specific pickup components).
Best Used For: Higher-mileage engines or engines experiencing low idle pressure, timing chain tensioner issues, or variable valve timing (VVT) oil-starvation concerns
