Ford UF835 is an industry-standard coil-on-plug (COP) ignition coil. It is engineered specifically for modern Ford vehicles equipped with 5.0L V8 engines, notably the Ford F-150 (2018–2021) and Ford Mustang (2018–2023).

Function: Transforms low-voltage battery power into the high voltage needed to fire the spark plugs and ignite fuel.

Design: Direct-fit bolt-on coil-on-plug style that mounts directly onto the spark plug.

The Gen 3 Coyote engine (2018+) features a unique factory layout where the passenger-side direct-injection high-pressure fuel pump requires one cylinder (cylinder #3) to use an offset remote coil with a short spark plug wire. Consequently, aftermarket "packs" or kits are often packaged or configured with seven standard coil-on-plug units plus one unique offset/remote configuration, or sold individually to match this specific 7+1 layout.

Direct Injection Packaging: The mechanical fuel pump on the passenger cylinder head physically blocks a standard direct mount on one cylinder, forcing a split design of 7 standard coil-on-plugs and 1 remote-mounted coil. 

Factory ECU Limits: The stock Ford ECU handles dwell and firing natively for the factory setup, meaning few vendors build full standalone multi-coil replacement kits unless targeting race cars with standalone engine management.

OEM Reliability: Factory Motorcraft coils easily support high-horsepower builds (often well past 1,000 horsepower), reducing the market demand for wide-ranging aftermarket alternatives.
