Mopar part 53032221AA is an OEM cylinder block plug (or expansion/core plug) used in Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles equipped with 5.7L, 6.1L, or 6.4L HEMI engines.
Its primary use is to plug the engine block’s solenoid ports in engines without the Multi-Displacement System (MDS). MDS is a fuel-saving cylinder deactivation feature, and the engine block has machined holes for these solenoids. This plug is used in place of the solenoid to seal the block correctly in non-MDS applications.
