The Ford 4.6L / 5.4L 3V SOHC Manganese Bronze Valve Guides (Performance Tapered) are a set of upgraded replacement valve guides for Ford 4.6L and 5.4L 3-valve single-overhead-cam (SOHC) modular V8 cylinder heads.
- Material: Machined from a high-quality USA-made manganese bronze alloy blend. Manganese bronze transfers heat much faster from the valve to the cylinder head than factory steel or powdered metal guides.
- Performance Taper: Features a tapered nose design that improves intake/exhaust port flow by reducing air restriction around the guide area.
- Tighter Tolerances: Can run with tighter clearances than factory powdered metal guides while offering superior wear resistance.
- Compatibility: Ideal for both OEM rebuilds and high-performance applications (including compatibility with upgraded stainless steel or high-temp valves).
- Fitment Notes: Sold in sets (typically 24 for a full 3V SOHC engine setup), designed with factory outer diameters (OD) and slightly undersized inner diameters (ID) that require finish-reaming or honing by a machine shop during installation
