The EA888 Gen 2 2.0 TSI/TFSI engine valves, piston with rods, and timing chain kit is a comprehensive engine rebuild or overhaul package designed to fix major mechanical failures or wear in second-generation Volkswagen and Audi 2.0-liter turbocharged engines.

What the Kit Contains

Pistons and Piston Rings Kit (4 pcs): Usually standard size (82.5mm bore) with upgraded rings to address the notorious oil consumption issues common in Gen 2 engines. 

Connecting Rods Kit (4 pcs): Matches the piston pin diameter (frequently 23mm or 21mm depending on the specific engine revision code) to connect the pistons to the crankshaft. 

Intake and Exhaust Valves: Replaces worn, warped, or bent valves typically caused by a timing stretch or failure. 

Timing Chain Kit: Includes the primary timing chain, tensioner (upgraded part number to prevent catastrophic failure), guide rails, and crank gears. 

Gaskets, Seals, and Bearings: Includes head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and main/rod bearings to seal and support the rebuilt top and bottom ends
Why It Is Used

Fixes Oil Consumption: Gen 2 EA888 engines (found in vehicles like the Mk6 GTI, Audi A4/Q5 from roughly 2008–2013) are known for heavy oil burning due to poor factory piston ring design.
