The installation of this thermostat requires the use of either GM housing; 12657137 or 12671393. The stock thermostat must be removed and the Mishimoto thermostat installed in its place. If the pin has moved out from the internal wax, the thermostat should be installed and run through one or two hot/cold cycles to ensure the thermostat has properly set. This 160F thermostat is designed for racing applications only.

Once the engine is fully warmed up the Mishimoto Racing C7 thermostat will open up at a lower temperature than the stock thermostat, allowing the coolant to flow through the engine sooner thus reducing and maintaining cooler engine temperatures.
