Superior Cooling
Intercooling is very important for M113K and M275/M279 powered vehicles. The Weistec Heat Exchanger has a dual pass design, giving the fluid inside the core more time to be cooled by air as the vehicle is driven down the road. It also has welded on mounting tabs that allow the heat exchanger to be bolted to the bottom of the bumper beam. The Weistec Heat Exchanger includes self-tapping screws for mounting.

The heat exchanger (often referred to as an intercooler radiator) in the supercharged M113K (5.4L Kompressor V8) Mercedes-AMG platform—found on the E55, S55, CL55, SL55, and CLS55 AMG—is a front-mounted low-temperature radiator responsible for cooling the air-to-water intercooler circuit.
Supercharger Compression: The screw-type supercharger compresses air to make high horsepower and torque, which simultaneously heats up the intake air.
Intercooler Core: Hot compressed air passes through water-cooled intercooler bricks sitting directly inside the intake manifold.
Heat Exchanger Dissipation: An electric intercooler pump circulates coolant from those manifold bricks down to the front heat exchanger mounted behind the grille/bumper. As air flows across the heat exchanger core while driving, it cools the liquid before it cycles back to the supercharger
Heat Soak: The factory cooling system on M113K cars can heat-soak quickly during hard driving, repeated wide-open-throttle (WOT) runs, or in hot weather. When intake air temperatures get too high, the engine control unit (ECU) pulls timing and cuts supercharger boost to protect the motor, causing a noticeable drop in power.
