    GM 12699617 is an OEM cylinder head with valvetrain fitting 2014–2024 General Motors 5.3L and 6.2L Gen V V8 engines (such as LT1, LT2, L86, and L87) across various trucks, SUVs, and performance cars.

    The cylinder head sits on top of the engine block to seal the cylinders, form the combustion chamber ceiling, and house crucial parts like valves, spark plugs, and often camshafts. It manages air and fuel flow, routes exhaust, and handles high heat and pressure.

    Sealing the Engine: It caps the cylinders to lock in the high pressures created during the compression and power strokes. A head gasket prevents leaks between the block and head.

    Air and Fuel Management: Intake and exhaust ports route fresh air-fuel mixtures in and push spent exhaust gases out.

    Housing Valve Trains: It holds valves, springs, and rocker arms or camshafts that control when engine ports open and close.

    Ignition and Fuel Injection: It secures spark plugs (in gasoline engines) or fuel injectors (in diesel and direct-injection engines).

    Cooling and Lubrication: Internal channels circulate coolant and oil to regulate engine temperature and lubricate moving parts
