This BladeRunner Intercooler represents the next generation of intercoolers. Designed specifically for the Ford F-150 Ecoboost 3.5L (tt), this BladeRunner intercooler utilizes a 3" bar and plate core design that is larger than stock and outflows the OE tube and fin core design by up to 20%. The 3/16" TIG-Welded end tanks offer superior strength, and durability while incorporating aFe multi-directional vane technology. A CNC machined bypass flange allows the intercooler to be used on 2013-2014 models that come equiped with an electronic bypass valve. aFe has also addressed the OE intercooler water condensation issue by adding a CNC machined vent tube, which uses a solid NPT plug for periodic draining. For those who wish for more automatic draining, we have also included is a 1/8" NPT breather vent fitting.
Flow And Efficiency:
Flowing 20% better than the factory unit, the BladeRunner intercooler performed above 95% efficiency, compared to the 88% efficiency of the factory intercooler. While tested on the field at an ambient temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, the BladeRunner cooled outlet flow temperature to 77 degrees. Under the same conditions, the factory unit cooled outlet flow temperature to 91 degrees.
CNC Machined Bypass Flange:
A CNC machined bypass flange allows the intercooler to be used on 2013-2014 models that come equiped with an electronic bypass valve.
TIG-Welded End Tanks:
The unique, BladeRunner end tanks are constructed out of 3/16'' TIG-Welded aluminum plates that incorporate four multi-directional vanes throughout the intercooler.
Multi-Directional Vane (MDV) Technology:
The BladeRunner MDV technology is used to direct hot airflow through the entire intercooler core allowing for increased air flow and cooling capacity.
3" Bar and Plate Core Design:
The use of the bar and plate core design allows for greater airflow and increased heat dissipation over the much smaller tube and fin design used by stock vehicles.
The intercooler includes a 1/8" NPT brass breather vent, which allows condensation to drain from the intercooler. The port can also be plugged and drained periodically using the included 1/8" NPT plug.
Billet Aluminum Inlets and Outlet:
This BladeRunner Intercooler uses dual 2.25" billet aluminum inlets and a 3" outlet for superior strength and durability.
The BladeRunner Intercooler is pressure test rated at 200psi which is perfect for high boost applications.
